Marielle joined The Women’s Foundation as Development Director in July 2018. In her role, Marielle leads the design and implementation of the long term development strategy to ensure sustainable support from corporate and institutional partners for TWF key programmes. Her responsibilities include the development and maintenance of long term and meaningful relationships with existing and new strategic partners. She is responsible for the coordination and alignment of all key fundraising initiatives by TWF. Finally she is highly involved in the conceptualisation of the TWF communications strategy to further build TWF awareness and support fundraising opportunities.
Marielle is a seasoned executive with more than two decades of experience working for blue chip companies, such as Heineken International and Nestle S.A. Her work assignments, in multiple countries covering three different continents, allowed to get involved in a number of voluntary roles and drove her passion for progress of underprivileged women and girls. In Mexico she decided to change her career path and combine her fast corporate experience with her commitment for women empowerment. She joined CREA, an Mexican NGO, focused on the empowerment of female entrepreneurs from a marginalised background as Director of Strategic Partnerships. Marielle also Co-Founded Touchdown Mexico, a training institute assisting people to succeed in their personal and professional life in Mexico.
In addition to working for The Women’s Foundation, Marielle is involved in advisory positions for a number of NGO’s throughout the region.
Marielle holds a Master of Science in Business Administration from the Erasmus University in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
