TWF submitted a response to the 2024 Policy Address Public Consultation with the recommendation to increase funding in areas that are critical to address current challenges and inequalities that will not only support the women and girls of our city but bring benefits and opportunities to help Hong Kong prosper as a whole, including our economy. Our recommendations focused on the following areas: Boosting the low female workforce participation rate, increased support for women in poverty, breaking the stigma on women's health taboos, greater preventative measures and protections around all forms of sexual and domestic violence, targeted protections for vulnerable groups of women and girls, tackling gender stereotypes across the city and increasing the availability and accessibility of gender disaggregated data.
