At TWF, we are counting down the hours in anticipation until our Gala Dinner tomorrow evening, supported by Title Sponsor Bloomberg and Associate Sponsors Citi and Facebook.
This is our first large scale in-person event in two years and we couldn’t be more thrilled to be seeing so many of you under the theme “The Power of Togetherness”.
This period of change has brought much needed visibility to existing inequalities and hidden issues that women and girls have been grappling with for decades: disproportionate caregiving responsibilities, mental stress, financial vulnerability, digital inequality, violence and biases. The issues have never been more urgent nor the power of coming together to make a difference been so critical.
We were overwhelmed by the enthusiastic response to our Gala and we wish circumstances permitted us to have everyone join. If you aren't able to attend, we look forward to seeing you at another event soon. In the meantime, there are a few key ways you can still show your support for women and girls in Hong Kong:
Silent Auction Bids
Bid on 41 unique and exciting auction lots. There is a wide array of prizes from staycations to limited edition wines, and wellness experiences to delicious dining menus. The Silent Auction closes at 9.45pm tomorrow, November 4 so get your bids in now. Check out the prizes here
Pledge in Support of Our Programmes
Our work to improve the lives of women and girls in Hong Kong is only possible through the generous support of individuals and organisations. We welcome you to consider showing your support as a general donation or for specific areas of our work like our STEM programmes for marginalised women and girls, our new Young Allies Initiative to be launched next year, and campaigns and advocacy. Pledge here
Tune in on November 4 from 8.10-8.30pm
We will be Facebook livestreaming our keynote panel discussion. Speakers include: Dr Trisha Leahy I Hong Kong Sports Institute, Dr Brenda Alegre I University of Hong Kong; Megan Lam I Neurum Health; moderated by Adrian Warr I Edelman. They will be discussing the intersections of creating community, connection and gender equality across sectors. Watch here
Each of us play a crucial role in closing the gender gap. And together, we have the power to shape a gender equal recovery in which we are all seen and we can all thrive.
