She Objects in Nice International Film Festival 2017!

Breaking news: TWF’s documentary She Objects was the recipient of the Scientific & Education Award at this year's Nice International Film Festival 2017!

The film was also nominated for Best Cinematography in a Documentary. Congratulations to our fantastic director Nicola Fan, our dynamic and passionate producers Patty Keung and Jessica Kam, our wonderful cast including Joyce Cheng, the hugely talented Anna Lo who scored the film and composed the original theme song, all our donors including Women Helping Women, and supporting organisations. We are delighted to be another voice advocating for the positive portrayal of women in the media around the world! For more info, please go to http://sheobjects.org.

Closer to home, I was honoured to be the keynote speaker at last Saturday's Holy Trinity College 2017 Graduation Ceremony. TWF has enjoyed a long-standing partnership with HTC  - they have been a participating school for most of our major community programmes from TEEN to Life Skills to Girls Go Tech. Under the visionary leadership of Principal Jane Or - herself an alumna of the school - Holy Trinity is a beacon in the local education landscape and a pioneer when it comes to empowering girls. Despite the under-served community in Shek Kip Mei from which the school draws its students, HTC's aspirations for its girls are boundless, not just in terms of academic achievement - last year, over 90% of its F.6 graduates attained the minimum university entrance requirement - but also in co-curricular activities from public speaking to sports to community service. If as many believe, this is the century that will be not only marked but defined by the unbridled achievement of women, it is girls with the intelligence and agility of the Trinitans I met on Saturday who are going to be leading the way.
